In 2019, Carolina Kayak Anglers (CKA) paired with Virginia Kayak Bass Challenge (VKBC) for a friendly inter-state tournament to be held on Kerr Lake in July of that year.  Nearly 100 kayak anglers fished the event. The prize? Bragging rights, and a trophy to prove it. The spirit of camaraderie was strong that day and the two clubs decided to make the event an annual tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We called it the Battle on the Border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Battle on the Border has been held every year since then at Kerr Lake and this year\u2019s edition will be held on October 8th<\/sup>, 2022. A fun event celebrating the local kayak fishing community at the end of our tournament seasons, anglers compete for cash, prizes and a beautiful custom trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this year, the Battle on the Border will again feature multiple clubs from Virginia and North Carolina.  In total, four clubs will donate prizes and send anglers to compete. But you don\u2019t have to be in a club to compete \u2013 anyone can sign up and fish!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, additional spots beyond 1st<\/sup> place will also receive trophies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
