CKA Tournament 3 Presented by Carver Covers

W. Scott Kerr was a new lake to the CKA Trail in 2018 and this will be our third visit there, but our first for the spring bite. 

W. Scott Kerr is located in the northwest Piedmont, near Wilkesboro. It is one of 4 Piedmont lakes run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (this means additional regulations apply – see website below). There are (7) eligible launches (listed below). There is also camping and rental cabins, which can be found at this link.  

Carver Covers is sponsoring this event and we will have a Custom Carver Covers Raffle at this event! You can buy as many tickets as you want and sell as many as you can to help build the Tournament of Champions purse! Buy a ticket at sign up or send $5 per ticket requested through PayPal to (as friends and family please!)

Anglers may have kayaks in the water but will not be permitted to leave launches prior to 6:00 to get to fishing areas.

Blank identifiers will be available on TourneyX approximately one week prior to the event (we recommend printing a few extras).

Unique identifier codes will be released Friday night prior to the event at 8:00pm EST on the CKA social media (Facebook, IG and Twitter).

The blank CKA identifier card will be posted and available n your TourneyX dashboard several days prior to the tournament. Print spares. CKA directors will also have a limited supply of spare identifiers at the ramps. 

The event code will be released during the captains meeting and across CKA social media prior to the tournament at 8 pm on Friday.

Boundaries and Rules

Format: 5 longest fish (8” minimum length), submitted on approved measuring device (Ketch Board only), entire fish and correct, legible ID entirely in photo. 

This event will largely follow KBF rules. Therefore, anglers must be familiar with and follow KBF rules as well as all lake regulations and North Carolina fishing laws and local regulations as they apply. CKA and KBF rules can be found at the link below:

Post Event Check in

Check in headquarters will be at Smithey’s Creek NC Wildlife public access area. Please be sure to obtain a valid N.C. license. CKA asks for proof of a valid license for anglers who win prizes.
