CKA 5 Falls Lake

CKA Tournament 5 Presented by Greensboro Gardens

June 19, 2021

Falls Lake, NC

Falls Lake is one of the biggest and best bass lakes in North Carolina, and a regular stop on several pro tours. The last time CKA had Falls Lake on the schedule was in 2017, when we hosted an early season KBF Trail event that was won by North Carolina’s Brandon Jessup, and during which Brad Crater landed a 24” LM Bass. Falls is a big, busy lake, and loaded with big bass.

The 2018 Tournament of Champions was held October 13th & 14th on Falls Lake. A field of 24 anglers was cut to 10 for day two. Ronnie Murphy led the field on day 1, when he also won Big Bass with a 22.75″ fish. On Day 2, Joey Sullivan came back from 7th place on Day 1 to win 1st place with a two day limit of 149″. Calvin Keller (2nd place) and David Golding (3rd place) rounded out the top 3.

This event is presented by Greensboro Gardens! We are very thankful to CKA angler Rick Morris, owner of Greensboro Gardens for the support!

Launches and Boundaries

The Eno River and Flat River are allowable to fish but must be “accessible” by a ramp listed below (the Eno River Boat Access site is closest). Primitive launches are accepted as long as they are in bounds and are considered public access.

River Bounderies:

The Eno River is eligible to fish and bound to the west of the Eno River Access at the confluence of the Little River.

The Flat River is bound by the base of the Lake Michie Dam

The tournament is a multi-launch event, and the listed access areas (below) are only some of the eligible locations to launch for the events on Falls Lake. Many of the Falls Lake launches are very large with ample parking, boat lanes and docks to tie off vessels after they are launched. Keep in mind that some launches may also be busy with boat tournaments, so respect fellow boaters and be careful at the marinas.

Of the 7 listed launches,  four are 24 hour ramps and three other ramps open at 8 a.m.  There are fees this time of year all NC Park ramps. Please keep in mind that CKA does not control access to the ramps, and if a gate is closed or it opens late, there is nothing either series can do to change that fact.
