CKA anglers again represented the club well in travel and competition various levels of Kayak Bass Fishing. North Carolina once again produced kayak bass fishing talent at every level of the sport, with this year highlighting also the achievements of some of our trail’s younger competitors.
This page recognizes their hard work and celebrates their achievements. Before proceeding, CKA staff thanks everyone who represented North Carolina in these events.
KBF events are sorted into 3 categories below: KBF Trail tournaments, KBF Challenges and the KBF National Championship. In 2022, the Stanly County Bounty was an additional and separate event.
Stanly County Bounty
The Stanly County Bounty was a joint venture between Kayak Bass Fishing and Stanly County, N.C. Its purpose was to incentivize and reward competitive kayak fishing on two Stanly County lakes (Badin and Tillery). A monthly big bass event was aligned with the KBF Monthly challenge and end of year results were also tallied for prizes. Additionally, CKA held two events on the eligible waters. Those were the Badin/Tillery event and the CKA Tournament of Champions. CKA anglers registered for KBF on-line events and the Bounty could submit fish from those events, too. When it was over, Justin Faircloth won 1st place overall for the longest bass caught during the season, with a 21.75”.
