Notable Changes for 2022

CKA 2022

There are a few changes to highlight for 2022 that anglers need to be aware of. The rules and event pages will be updates shortly to reflect these items, make sure you are up on the rules before the first event at Falls Lake!

CKA Members is paid through Fishing Chaos, all events will be in FishingChaos for 2022.

We are one of the largest KBF Ambassador Clubs, and we have been recognized and supported by KBF in 2021, and even bigger support in 2022! Please consider making sure to sign up with KBF and lets get Carolina Kayak Anglers recognized as the Premier Kayak Bass Fishing Ambassador Club!

Fishing Chaos

Paying the $43 Fishing Chaos “Fish Wrangler” fee is a benefit for all anglers, whether you fish a lot or a little in 2022. The immediate payback in gift certificates is worth $50! All events you enter for Carolina Kayak Anglers, Central Carolina Kayak Anglers, KBF and any other club on Fishing Chaos will have no extra charge for it.

If you opt not to pay the Fish Wrangler annual fee, the small charge for each tournament will be added when you check out, and should only be around $3 per event.

The fees we paid for previously for CPR system usage will now be applied to the payouts, which have been updated for 2022.

Minimum Size Limit

Minimum Length for a scrabble bass in 2022 is now 10″ to increase the challenge and this will also match CCKF for less confusion throughout the year.

Launch Time is Lines In time

Immediate lines in at launch time effective immediately for all CKA events. Same rules apply to staying with a reasonable and visible distance to the ramp before launch time. We will keep the extra half hour in the events so the total launch time to lines out remains the same 8.5 hours.

Points system

300 first, 2 pt drop per place after, 100 pt minimum for participants. The Gate City Classic remains must for points and will be calculated by 600 with a 2 pt drop. This keeps the numbers the same as far as gaps between places so it is a fair bump in points.

The reasoning is with the automatic points standings system, there is no way to select a specific event as a must count without making it weighted so it will always be higher than standard points.

Teams

$100 buy in, 10 team minimum paid before March 18th, awards for top team per event, cash payout 100% to top 3 teams 50/30/20 split. Best 5 events, big fish tie breakers. Not weighted at the Gate City Classic.

Members only compete for top 25 in total points no drops to qualify for NC B.A.S.S. Nation Championship, max roll down to 30th.

Complete rules to be posted soon.

FishOPS 2022 Big Bass

$5 per event for that events fish to qualify for the 2022 Big Bass. Not required at every event, but any event you don’t opt in, that events fish will not be counted.
50/50 split between payout and FishOPS at the end of the year. Top 3 split the prize (depending on participation).
Don’t need to be a CKA Member to qualify but must be present at the GCC for awards.
Look for KBF FishOPS events and to support veterans and their families!
