CKA Winter Series Concludes

CKA Begins New Winter Series

After a successful 10th year anniversary season in 2023, CKA set the wheels in motion for another ten years of competitive kayak bass fishing in North Carolina. We made the 2024 schedule and we renewed the popular “20 for….” online series.

After listening to requests from anglers, we also organized a winter series.

CKA’s second decade began with the “Winter Lakes” event, CKA’s new Winter Series that consists of three tournaments.

What is the CKA Winter Series?

First, we kept it simple. For example, the Winter Series returns us to the old-school format: a three bass limit. Post your best three bass and at the end the angler with the three longest fish overall wins first place.

Second, it’s wide open; you can fish any public waters in North Carolina on tournament day.

Third, we made it affordable: there is a low entry fee of only $30 (with optional big bass side pot) and we suspended the mandatory in-person check in to cut down on travel (just use the safety feature to check in on Fishing Chaos).

Finally, while anglers can fish individual events, they can also compete for points. Points are tracked on an automated leaderboard on Fishing Chaos that will populate as anglers post fish (it is a live series leaderboard – anglers will see real-time standings on it as they accumulate points over the three events). At the end of the series, the top angler will win their choice of a free entry to a 2024 CKA tournament OR a free CKA membership.

When Is It?

CKA has scheduled the winter series on the following dates:

Additional Info

If you have questions, reach out to CKA through our Facebook page or through our email address.

We encourage new anglers to use these winter events to meet other club members (keep an eye out also for the planned meet and greet at Get Outdoors in January).   CKA is a community as well as a competition.
