Introduction
We are bringing it back!
In 2023, we organized an online monthly series. We kept it simple – your 20 best fish and a low entry fee. But the end-of-year stakes were high: the top two finishers would qualify for the CKA Tournament of Champions.
We posted it, sat back and held our breath. After all, there were plenty of other on-line events to choose form (even if our format was unique).
Within the first week of the first event, we knew it was going to be a fun season. Sign-ups were high for and the competition remained strong throughout the year.
In 2024, the race begins early – anglers can start competing on January 1st!
Why Fish the On-Line Series?
First, “20 for 24” provides additional qualifying opportunities. Maybe you can’t make every regular season event, but you still want a chance to qualify for the CKA Tournament of Champions. Fishing the on-line series offers a possible path to qualification for it. In 2023, Will Lambert and Garriett Chavis each punched a ticket to the CKA Tournament of Champions by taking the top two spots in the series standings.
Also, this year, the top three finishers will qualify for the 2025 KBF National Championship.
Second, it’s a great way to start learning the water bodies we fish. Fish may only be submitted from lakes and rivers on which CKA has held live tournaments (a complete list is on our website). This also opens pre-fishing time to competition; you can submit the fish you caught in practice.
Finally, if you are new to kayak fishing, the 20 for 24 monthly tournament is a great way to practice Catch-Photo-Release [CPR] fishing. If you are a seasoned angler, it’s a great way to get warmed up and try new gear. And if you are fishing the CKA winter series, you can cross-post fish to both leaderboards (so long as your catch is from one of the “20 for..” list of eligible water bodies).
In addition to prizes and qualifying opportunities, the top three finishers receive a custom Ketch trophy at the Gate City Classic!

Rules
Complete rules and payout information can be found on the CKA “20 for 24” page.
All KBF and CKA standard rules apply, with the following exceptions and/or additions:
- The monthly tournament begins at 12:00 a.m. of the first day of each month and concludes at 11:59:59 pm on the final day of each month
- Anglers must post their fish within 72 hours of the time stamp for each catch
- Tournament of Champions qualification: the top 2 finishers will receive an invitation to the 2024 CKA Tournament of Champions. The top two will be determined by the total overall length of their best five monthly finishes.
- The minimum submission length is 10”
- The angler with the longest overall length for their verified catches will win the month. This means you can win without catching a limit. An angler who has a 20 fish limit of 189” would lose to an angler who lands 19 fish for 192”
- The CKA identifier must be clearly and fully visible in each submission
- The tie breaker is largest fish, in descending order from longest to shortest
