Virginia Kayak Anglers Elite [VKAE] and Foothills Kayak Anglers [FKA] have joined the inter-state stable of kayak tournament organizations who participate in organizing and running the annual Battle on the Border kayak fishing tournament. Their participation expands the event’s number of actively participating clubs to a total of six organizations. There is balance in the numbers, too: there are now three clubs from Virginia and also three clubs from North Carolina. VKAE VKAE is located in northern Virginia and the DelMarVa region. In 2019, Carolina Kayak Anglers (CKA) paired with Virginia Kayak Bass Challenge (VKBC) for a friendly inter-state tournament to be held on Kerr Lake in July of that year.  Nearly 100 kayak anglers fished the event. The prize? Bragging rights, and a trophy to prove it. The spirit of camaraderie was strong that day and the two clubs decided to make the event an annual tradition. Kerr Lake (Bugg’s Island), NC/VA  Overview In 2019, CKA paired up with a Virginia kayak fishing club (VKBC) for a friendly border war.  We called it the Battle on the Border, and nearly 100 kayak anglers fished the event. Kayak Bass Fishing has generously donated additional cash prizes and 2020 National Championship Qualifying spots for the CKA-VKBC Battle at the Border at Kerr Lake, this coming Saturday, July 13th. This additional tournament support is to promote the sport among KBF members and non-members alike.
