4 Trails for Theresa & Tim

The Combined Kayak Fishing Trails of North Carolina present

FOUR TRAILS FOR THERESA AND TIM

A charity event for Tim “NCPierman” Taramelli & Family

On July 15th, 2018, fisherman and fishing guide Mr. Timothy Taramelli was driving with his daughter Theresa to go fishing at Core Creek on the southern Neuse River. Tim and Theresa were severely injured when Tim’s truck was struck by another vehicle. To raise money for his family’s medical expenses, the North Carolina Kayak Fishing Association, Queen City Kayak Bass Fishing, Carolina Kayak Anglers and Plastic Pirates have combined to sponsor a month-long charity event in which 100% of entry fees will go to the Taramelli family.

Format

  • Month-long event (Midnight, October 1st to Midnight, October 31st). Sign up open throughout the month.
  • Total length of your 5 best black bass (spotted, largemouth, or smallmouth)
  • Rigid measuring boards (Hawg Trough, Ketch Board, Fish Stik only). No tape measures!
  • Anglers may fish any water (without trespassing) from a kayak, canoe, or boat (catamaran, SUP, power, sail, jonboat, raft, etc), as well as bank fish.

Updated AOY and ROY Standings!

Hi everyone,

We hope everyone is riding out the remainder of Hurricane Florence in safety. Based on current conditions and the current forecast, we are planning to conclude the regular season this coming Saturday at the Gate City Classic/KBF Trail. Sign up!

As you will see in the standings, the race remains open in both categories. In the Angler of the Year race, defending AOY PC Hawj holds a slim lead with a couple anglers breathing right down his neck. Mathematically speaking, any one of the top 16 anglers could take the crown, although probabilities decrease the farther down you go on the list.

In the Rookie of the Year race, the top 8 anglers all have a shot, and only 2 points separate the top 2 anglers!

We finish it this Saturday, Sept 22nd, at the Classic!!!!!

The ROY/AOY file is below in Excel spreadsheet format. To toggle between AOY and ROY standings, go to the bottom of the Excel file, here: CKA 2018 AOY ROY Update 09142018

Shearon Harris CKA/KBF Trail Event

CKA Tournament 5

KBF Trail Event

Shearon Harris Lake, NC

June 9th, 2017

Overview

Welcome anglers to event #5 of the 2018 CKA tournament season. The tournament will be held on June 9th at Shearon Harris Lake. This is our yearly visit to world renowned Shearon Harris and it is our first time hosting a KBF Trail on the lake. The tournament will be a multi-launch event using the two available public ramps at the lake.

The event will be held in conjunction with a KBF Trail Event.  Anglers may fish either the CKA and KBF event separately, or fish both events simultaneously. The CKA event is a 3 fish limit event and the KBF Trail event is a 5-fish limit event, but an angler’s 3 CKA fish can be cross-posted to the KBF event on Tourney X. Additionally, non-KBF members can compete in the KBF event but we encourage anglers to sign up as KBF members.

AOY standings update

Hello everyone and thanks again to all of the anglers who recently fished with us at Hyco.

We are posting the CKA AOY update file (see below) so that everyone can have a look at the official standings after one event. Given that qualifying spots are at stake for KBF Nationals (our Top 5 get a ticket) and the Tournament of Champions (top 15), it is important that the numbers be correct. Double check the list against the event standings on TourneyX. If you think you see an error, contact CKA Tournament Director Wayne Butler. Note also that the (R) designation next to a name indicates a 1st year angler.

As it stands, Bob Dainton has punched a ticket to the Tournament of Champions because he won 1st place at Hyco. Bob is a local kayak fishing pioneer and a CKA regular. Congratulations Bob!

The rest of the field is wide open this early on so prepare for our event on Lake Hickory on March 31st, get signed up and fish hard to gain ground or reinforce your position.

It’s a long season and now is the time to grind and stack points!
